Easy-to-use acrylic paint dabbers make it a snap to give color to metal pieces you’ve stamped and to highlight the letters.
Print these instructions
Stamping Blank (shown with 25mm Sterling Silver Round Stamping Charm)
1 lb Heavy Brass Hammer
2.5 inch Polished Bench Block
Acrylic Paint Dabber by Ranger Inks
Make sure to wipe away the excess paint before it dries.
You will need metal stamps, a hammer, bench block, stamping blank, and acrylic paint. You will also need paper towel and masking tape.
Lay the stamping blank on a bench block. Use a piece of masking tape to hold the blank down and to use as a guide for the lettering. Choose the first metal stamp. Hold the stamp so that the impression will be right side up.
Line up the letter to be stamped using the reflection in the silver and the masking tape.
Hold the stamp straight up and down. Using a heavy hammer, hit the top of the letter stamp with one good hard blow.
This should leave a clean, deep impression of the letter or design.
Continue stamping the blank. Line up the next letter using the reflection.
Continue stamping until you have completed your saying or design. Remove the stamping blank from the bench block.
Dab the stamped blank thoroughly with acrylic paint.
Wipe off the excess paint with a paper towel. Let the recessed paint dry thoroughly.
Congratulations! You have created a beautiful colored stamping blank.
