Here’s a basic beading technique that’s easy to master in a few quick steps.
Open (unsoldered) Jump Ring
2 - Chain Nose Pliers
You can either use two pairs of chain nose pliers or one pair and your fingers.
Use this technique when you add a charm to chain
Begin with an open (unsoldered) jump ring.
Grasp the jump ring on either side of the opening with two pairs of chain nose pliers. Or if you don't have two pairs of pliers, you can use one pair of pliers and your fingers.
Close the jump ring by moving the sides together in a back and forth wiggle motion.
Gently move the right side up and left side down.
While moving them back and forth, over lap the sides of the ring so there is tension when the two sides meet.
Snap the two sides together to close the ring. The seam should be closed tightly.
Congratulations! You have closed a jump ring.
