Step 1

You will need the 1/16 inch Riveting and Piercing System, rivets and stamping blanks.

Step 2

Begin by piercing a hole in each of the blanks. Position the blanks in a design you like.

Step 3

With a Sharpie, mark where you want the rivet to be on the top blank.

Step 4

Use the Piercing side of the tool. Place a Pro Polish Pad under the blank to avoid marring it. Position the blank so that the mark from the Sharpie is aligned with the tip of the piercing pin.

Step 5

Slowly rotate the T-handle clockwise until the blank is pinched between the tip of the piercing pin and the piercing pin base. Then continue turning the T-handle until the shoulder of the handle comes in contact with the top of the tool holder. Once the blank has been pierced, turn the T-handle counterclockwise until the blank is released from the piercing pin.

Step 6

You now have a hole in the top blank.

Step 7

Use the top blank from step 6 as a guide. Layout the blanks again and with a Sharpie, mark the placement for the hole in the bottom blank using the hole you just made in the top blank.

Step 8

Use the Piercing side of the tool. Place a Pro Polish Pad under the blank to avoid marring it. Position the blank so that the mark from the Sharpie is aligned with the tip of the piercing pin.

Step 9

Slowly rotate the T-handle clockwise until the blank is pinched between the tip of the piercing pin and the piercing pin base. Then continue turning the T-handle until the shoulder of the handle comes in contact with the top of the tool holder. Once the blank has been pierced, turn the T-handle counterclockwise until the blank is released from the piercing pin.

Step 10

You now have holes in both of the blanks.

Step 11

To rivet the blanks together begin by selecting the proper length of rivet for your application. A good rule of thumb is to allow half of the length of the rivet to protrude beyond the finshed piece. For example, 1/16” length rivet, allow 1/32” to protrude.

Step 12

Use the Flaring Side of the tool. Place the head of the rivet onto the flaring base. Turn the T-handle of the flaring punch so the nose of the flaring punch lines up with the opening in the rivet.

Step 13

Once aligned and captured between the flaring punch and the flaring base. Continue turning the T-handle for the flaring punch clockwise until the flaring punch nose shoulder just makes contact with the blanks. Turn the T-handle of the flaring punch counterclockwise to release the rivet from the tool.

Step 14

Congratulations! You have completed your riveted piece.

Step 15

Here is how the rivet will look on the backside of your piece.
