Give sheet metal intricate textures with a chasing hammer by following our Beading Technique.
Print these instructions
Metal Piece (we used a sterling silver blank link)
2.5 inch Polished Bench Block
1 in. Chasing Hammer
Tape - optional
Place the metal piece on the bench block.
Hold the metal piece down with with your finger. If you do not feel comfortable holding the metal with your finger, you may place a small piece of tape along the edge to keep the metal in place.
Using the chasing (ball) side of the chasing hammer, hit the metal several times in a random pattern.
Hammer the metal piece until it is completely textured.
Rotate the metal piece and continue hammering to texture the area that was held by your finger or tape.
Congratulations! The metal piece is now completely textured.
