Techniques: Right Angle Weave Tube Bead

Create a beaded bead using right angle weave. Make several to incorporate into a bracelet or necklace. Or try connecting the ends of one long tube to create a bangle.

Right Angle Weave Tube Bead Materials
  • Beads (we used size 8 metal seed beads)
  • Thread (we used FireLine Size D)
Tools
  • Size 12 Beading Needles
  • Scissors
  • Perfect End Thread Burner
Tip: Try making these beads using other types of beads such as crystals or pearls.

Create a flat right angle weave piece. This piece is five 4-bead units by three rows.

Bring both sides of the piece together. The outer edge beads should match up.

Make sure that the thread is coming up through the bottom left edge bead.

String one bead.

Go down through the bottom right edge bead.

Reinforce the tube bead by going through the beads in a figure-8 fashion.

Clean up the ends of your thread, using a Perfect End Thread Burner. Burn, or melt, the end of your thread until the end is no longer visible.

Congratulations! You have completed a right angle weave tube bead!
Step 35 - Connecting Two Ends or Two Tube Beads
Make sure that the two ends or two tube beads are the same thickness. In this case the tubes are 4 beads thick.

Turn the tubes so the ends to be connected are facing you.

Go up through the left bead on the right tube.

Go through those four beads again to reinforce the connection. Exit the needle through the top center bead. This has now connected the tubes on one of the four sides.

Bring the two ends of the tubes together so that they lay paralell to each other.

Having come out of the center bead, now go down through the next edge bead on the left tube.

Go up through the edge bead on the right tube. This will finish the connection on this side of the tube.

Go back though those four beads again to reinforce the connection. Exit the needle from the bottom bead.

Rotate the tube so the bead you just exited from is at the top.
