For a basic flat spiral rope design, choose three beads. A core bead (A), an outer bead (B) and a detail bead (c). For A we chose a 6mm round bead, for B we chose size 11 round Japanese seed beads and for C we chose a 3mm round fire polished bead.
String 5 feet of thread through a size 12 needle. Tie on a stop bead by picking up one bead and passing the needle and thread through the bead in the same direction so that the thread wraps around the bead. A stop bead is temporary and will be removed later. It prevents your beads from sliding off of the thread whileyou're getting started. Position the stop bead about 12 inches from the end of the thread.
String two A beads, five B beads, one C bead and five B beads. Go back up through the two A beads. (Note: depending on the size of your middle beads the number of the exterior seed beads may vary)
Repeat step 3 to create a loop on the other side of your core beads. Make sure you have one loop sit on one side of your A beads and one loop sit on the other side.
String one A bead, five B beads, one C bead and five B beads. Go up through the second A bead and the A bead you just added.
String five B beads, one C bead, and five B beads. String through the second and third A beads. Always keep your second loop on the opposite edge from your first loop. As you stack your A beads the bracelet will get more solid and it will flop around less.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach your desired length. Make sure to end after a complete link has been created. A complete link is formed at the end of step 6.
To create the loop to add a clasp, exit out of the last A bead and string four B beads, the toggle bar loop and four more B beads.
Pass back though the A bead. To reinforce the clasp, pass back through two - three complete links.
Remove the stop bead and repeat steps 9 and 10 at the other end to attach the toggle bar.
Congratulations! You have made a flat spiral rope bracelet.
