Great wire

by

This wire is great for making wire wrapped jewelry.

sturdy wire

by

This 14 gu wire is perfect for my heavy wire wrapping projects. I use it to make arm cuffs and bracelets on my wig-jig. It bends well, but also holds its shape. The coating does not flake or scratch off.

great stuff, and cheaper than artistic wire

by

I first tried using Artistic Wire for a jewelry project and found that its clearcoat tended to peel off pretty easily (though I can't be sure that I didn't get a defective spool). Artistic Wire was also a little softer and costs more. I found that Parawire was less prone to peeling, and its stiffer feel worked fine for me, in making wire-wrapped rings. The silver Parawire is slightly darker than Artistic Wire and looks more like actual sterling silver, which I liked. You do have to be careful not to nick it with your pliers. I use a clear plastic bag between my pliers and the wire when manipulating or squeezing parts that will not stay on the finished piece, and that helps.

The "titanium" color is nice because it's not too dark--looks like nickel or titanium, but not "gunmetal." You do have to be careful not to nick it with your pliers. Craft Wire

by

This is the first time that I have used such thin guage wire and I really do like this wire. The color stays with the wire very well and I have not seen any signs of tarnish. I would recommend this product.

Too flimsy

by

This is an extremely soft wire that does not keep its hold when used for wrapping and breaks easily! Fusion Customer Support Update: This gauge is ideal for beads with smaller holes and for delicate wire work, such as wire and bead flowers. Because of the thin gauge and soft copper core, it is not suggested to use in wire wrapped loops unless necessary due to hole size or the delicate nature of a design. It will not hold an open, structured shape on its own when worn. We highly recommend using at least a 24 gauge wire be used for wire wrapped loops. 22 gauge is the most commonly used. If wire is bent repeatedly it will become work hardened. If the wire becomes too hard it will become brittle and break. Using a slow, consistent motion when wrapping is preferable to avoid heat and brittleness produced by twisting, bending and friction.

Lovely Wire

by

This shining gold wire is a much better gold color than purchasing the gold/bronze colored Artistic Wire. This brand gold colored wire gleams and sparkles more than the option and doesn't tarnish like the other brand does. It's also a better texture wire to work with. I was just about to give up on gold colored wire since the best I could find other than gold filled was the (gold colored) Artist Wire, but thank goodness Fusion Beads had this to offer!!! Now I'm happily using gold colored wire again and my customers and friends love this wire much more than the other options I have used, I'm so proud of the projects I make with this sturdy wire. I highly recommend it above the other brands.

This wire is used for my stem wire. I make Victorian Beaded Flowers from seed beads. Parcel arrived intact.

WARNING - Tiny spools!

by

I've ordered 20g and 24g Parawire from Parawire's own website before, and their spools come in 40-75ft (20g) or 100-150ft (24g) lengths - so since the lengths aren't specified here, I thought it'd be about the same....

WRONG!

My 20g spool is only 6 yds (18ft) and the 24g was only 10 yds (30ft)!

The only reason I'd ever buy this again is Parawire has a minimum order requirement, and sometimes I only need one spool. But expect to get very little wire for what you're paying!
