Waxed cotton cord is a sturdy material that can be used for stringing but is most commonly used for macramé or other techniques that need to hold knots particularly well. Due to its large diameter, waxed cotton cord requires a big-eye or twisted wire needle for stringing. You have many options for finishing these cords - you can tie cotton cord with a lark's head knot, an adjustable knot or a square knot. You can also finish cotton cording by using coil cord ends or by folding over cord ends.
