Mookaite, a type of jasper, is also known as "mookite," "mookalite" and "mookarite." It has been found in many colors, including rusty reds, purples, greens, tans, white and pinks. A single strand of mookaite beads may contain any or all of these hues.

FusionBeads.com carries a gorgeous selection of natural, semi-precious gemstone donut pendants. Attach a donut bail, string the bail onto a chain or cord, and you have a fast yet elegant necklace. These gemstones are individually cut and drilled by hand. Shapes and details may vary slightly, lending each bead unique characteristics. All of FusionBeads.com's gemstone beads are graded AB. Variance in stone appearance can be dramatic

by

While some of the photos of these gemstone donuts are certainly exemplary (if perhaps setting the bar of expectation high), some may be deceiving. I ordered a 25mm mookaite, which is shown here as a mottled dark green and red. The piece I received labeled as 'mookaite' was an extremely uniform middling taupe. Disappointing. The others I ordered, however, were at least generally similar to their example photos.
