Combining Two Molded Resin Pieces
Make a three-dimensional form from ICE Resin or Resin by Nunn Design by putting two flat-sided pieces together into a nearly seamless piece.
Print this Technique
Choose two of the same finished molded resin pieces. We chose two teardrop shapes from a resin mold.
Using an emery board begin filing down the edges of the molded resin pieces.
Keep filing the edges until the two molded pieces fit together evenly.
Mix a small batch of resin. For more detailed instructions see Using Resin with Bezel Pendants Technique.
Place one of the molded resin pieces on a flat work surface with the back of the piece facing up.
Slowly begin to pour a thin layer of resin over the back of the molded resin piece.
Using a stir stick gently guide the thin layer of resin over the back of the molded resin piece until it is evenly covered. Make sure the resin goes all the way to the edges.
Gently place the second molded resin piece on top of the first molded resin piece. Make sure they match up evenly
Let the resin fully cure for a minimum of three days.
Congratulations! You have now combined two molded resin pieces to use in your jewelry designs.
