Step 1
Finish the last row before decreasing. Instead of turning to start the next row, turn the opposite direction, into the first two beads of the previous row.

Step 2
Turn away from the end, into the bead in the adjacent row.

Step 3
Pass back through the bead on the outside edge.

Step 4
Pass back through the two beads on the edge of the last row, headed toward the middle.

Step 5
String one bead, and pass into the next bead over, resuming a normal peyote stitch pattern.

Step 6
Continue the rest of the way across the row, adding beads as usual.

Step 7
At the end of the row, turn down, and pass through the last bead of the previous row.

Step 8
Pass through the next down bead, third from the end of the section.

Step 9
Turn up, and pass through the bead directly above.

Step 10
Pass back through the bead on the outside edge.

Step 11
Turn back toward the end, and pass through the two beads next to the edge.

Step 12
Add a bead, resuming a normal peyote stitch pattern.

Step 13
Finish the row by adding one bead between each up bead. In this case, it is only one bead.

Step 14
Turn, and pass through the bead directly underneath, headed back toward the other side.

Step 15
Pass through the next bead over, headed toward the other side.

Step 16
Turn, and pass through the bead directly underneath, headed back toward the outside edge.

Step 17
Pass through one more bead headed toward the edge.

Step 18
Turn, and pass through the bead directly above, headed back toward the opposite side.

Step 19
Pass through the next up bead, headed toward the other side.

Step 20
String one bead, and pass through the next up bead.

Step 21
Stitch back through to the opposite side until the thread is coming out of a bead along the edge.

Step 22
Use sharp scissors to trim the thread close to the edge.
